Point Tournament
April 2 or 3

  • Sign up date of play (before round)
  • Make your own arrangements for tee times
  • Eighteen hole scoring system as follows:
    • Everyone starts with minus 36
    • Take your handicap and add
    • For example, a 25 handicap: -36 +25 (-11)
    • Equals your starting negative number
    • Players with handicaps of 36 or higher will use 36 and start @ 0
    • Score by hole and points are earned as shown below:
      • Bogey – 1 point
      • Par – 2 points
      • Birdie – 4 points
      • Eagle – 8 points

5-4-3 Out
April 9 or 10

  • Sign up date of play (before round)
  • Make your own arrangements for tee times
  • Individual-18 holes stroke play-full handicap
  • Flighted tournament (white tees for all)
  • After your round.. remove the following from your scorecard making this a 15 hole, net tournament:
  • (1) Par 3 score
  • (1) Par 4 score
  • (1) Par 5 score

Pick Own 2-Man Pinehurst
April 16 or 17

  • Sign up date of play (before round)
  • Make your own arrangements for tee times
  • Flighted tournament (white tees for all)
  • Pick your own Two-Man Team – Minimum Combined Handicap of 16
    1. Both players tee off, then they switch balls.. Player A plays Player B’s drive, and vice-versa
    2. Each player hits a second shot with the other’s ball
    3. Then select the best of the second shots and from that point play alternate shot until the ball is holed out
    4. If you choose Player A’s second shot as the best of the two.. Player B will start off with alternate shot until the ball is holed

Presidents Cup
April 23,24,30  May 1, 7 or 8

  • Sign up date of play (before round)
  • Two 18 hole rounds must be completed over three weekends
  • Stroke play, full handicap, individual event
  • Make your own arrangements for tee times

Sucker In The Bucket
May 14 or 15

  • Sign up date of play (before round)
  • Make your own arrangements for tee times
  • Four-Man Team flighted tournament, full handicap
  • Ball to be scored must be holed out
  • 1st hole: any player’s score can be selected as the team’s best ball (net) score
  • 2nd hole: any of the remaining 3 players whose score was not used on the first hole can be used
  • 3rd hole: any of the remaining 2 players who was not used on the 1st or 2nd hole can be used
  • 4th hole: the player remaining will be the “sucker in the bucket” and his score must be used
  • 5th hole: start back with choosing the best ball from all four players and continue in the same pattern thru the rest of the holes
  • If 2 players tie, the team must choose whose score will be used before teeing off on the next hole
  • Holes 17 and 18 will be left after going through the cycle 4 times:
    • Hole 17: any player’s score can be used
    • Hole 18: any of the remaining 3 player’s score can be used

Member-Member
May 21 or 22

  • Sign up until May 15th
  • Indicate on the sheet your preferred date to play
  • Flighted Tournament – Tee Times are Assigned
  • Two Man Team Event – 18 Holes stroke play, best ball
  • Gross Scores – No Handicap
  • Team’s gross scoring ball must be holed (you are playing the field)

MGA Memorial Odd-Even
May 28,29 or 30

  • Sign up date of play (before round)
  • There is an Entry Fee for this tournament
  • Individual tournament (18 holes), full handicap, everyone against the field
  • Odd number holes are one tournament
  • Even number holes are another tournament
  • This is a full handicap event, so use your handicap holes where they belong
  • Make your own arrangements for tee times
  • Donations to be made out to: OHCC Men’s Golf Association

Nine A Man
June 4 or 5

  • Sign up date of play (before round)
  • Make your own arrangements for tee times
  • 18 holes stroke play-full handicap
  • Flighted tournament (white tees for all)
  • Pick your own Two-Man Team-No Combined Handicap Requirement
  • After the completion of each hole, choose one score for the team (Player A or Player B)
  • Team must use 9 holes from each player (full handicap)

Four Ball
June 12,18 or 19

  • Sign up before predetermined date
  • Two-man team best ball, match play, flighted
  • Teams and tee times will be assigned
  • The first round of this tournament is scheduled for Sunday. Semi-finals and Finals will be played the following Saturday and Sunday. Check for rain dates
  • $60 entry fee, per team  (pay before round)
  • NO Calcutta for this tournament

Senior & Super Senior Championship
June 25,26,  July 2,3,9,10

  • Sign up date of play (before round)
  • Two eighteen hole rounds of individual stroke play over three designated weekends
  • Members age 55 and older as of tournament date are eligible for Senior play
  • Members age 65 and older as of tournament date are eligible for Super Senior play
  • Eligible members must choose to play Senior or Super Senior, NOT BOTH
  • Gross & Net Prizes
  • Make your own arrangements for tee times

Non-Senior Challenge
June 25,26,  July 2,3,9,10

  • Sign up date of play (before round)
  • Two eighteen hole rounds of individual stroke play over three designated weekends
  • Make your own arrangements for tee times
  • Non Senior Ages – 55 years old
  • Senior Ages – 65 years old

The Classic
July 17,23,24

  • Pick your own partner, four-ball
  • Two-man team best ball, match play, flighted
  • The first round of this tournament is scheduled for Sunday. Semi-finals and Finals will be played the following Saturday and Sunday. Check for rain dates
  • 80% Handicap for all flights
  • No entry fee
  • There will be a Calcutta

Championship Flight Qualifying Weekend
July 30,31

  • This is not a Date of Play sign up event
  • You must sign up before deadline in order to qualify
  • There is no handicap requirement to sign up
  • Two qualifying rounds will be played from the blue tees
  • 15 low players and last year’s champion qualify
  • Sign up sheets are up at the clubhouse
  • Groups will be assigned by the tournament committee

Club Championship
August 13,14,20 & 21

  • Sign up by Saturday, August 6th
  • This is a flighted,  match play event, played from the white or gold tees (if eligible)
  • 80% of white tee handicap. Those playing from gold tees will have their white tee handicap reduced by 2 strokes
  • Tournament is single round elimination
  • Tee times will be assigned
  • Those members qualifying for the Championship Flight do not have to sign up for the Club Championship

Blind Man’s Bluff
August 27 or 28

  • Sign up date of play (before round)
  • Make your own arrangements for tee times
  • Individual – 18 holes stroke play – 1/2 handicap
  • Flighted Tournament (white tee for all)
  • After all golfers have started their round, 9 holes will be randomly selected (blind) by the Tournament Chair making this a 9 hole net tournament

ABCD Best Ball
September 3 or 4

  • Sign up before predetermined date
  • Teams will be made up of A B C and D players as determined by handicap
  • Each golfer plays his own ball throughout the round
  • The low net ball is the ball scored for the team on each hole
  • Teams and tee times will be assigned

Member-Guest
September 11

  • Sign up before predetermined date
  • 18 holes, stroke play, team best ball and full handicap
  • Shotgun tournament
  • Gross and Net Prizes will be awarded

Hope Classic
September 17 or 18

  • Sign up date of play (before round)
  • Make your own arrangements for tee times
  • 18 holes stroke play
  • 1 Low Gross, 1 Low Net winner

This will be your last hope to get into the Tournament of Champions. Those who have already qualified are excluded from signing up.

Tournament of Champions
September 25

  • Sign up before predetermined date
  • Only members who have won or tied for first place in an Association tournament are eligible to play (excluding Member-Guest).
  • 18 hole, stroke play, individual, full handicap event
  • Tee times will be assigned

Ryder Cup Qualifying
July 30 – September 18

  • Two qualifying rounds will be played from the white tees between 7/30 – 9/8
  • To qualify, sign up date of play (before each qualifying round).  YOU MUST PLAY WITHIN A FOURSOME OF ALL ASSOCIATION MEMBERS
  • Make your own arrangements for qualifying tee times
  • If any member needs assistance being matched up with other members in order to play and submit a qualifying round, please contact Orange Hills ahead of time to make arrangements
  • Team Qualification:
    • Club Champion
    • Senior Club Champion (Gross)
    • (4) Club Championship Flight Winners
    • (2) Low Gross Ryder Cup Qualifier
    • (2) Low Net Ryder Cup Qualifiers
    • (2) Captain’s Picks
    • Should the number of flights in the club championship exceed 4, then the number of qualifiers from the qualifying rounds would be reduced accordingly at the discretion of the Tournament Committee and the Ryder Cup Captain.
    • The total number of Ryder Cup players will be 12

MGA Points Cup

The MGA Points Cup is a season-long competition in which players accumulate points in each eligible event. At the end of the season, the winning player will be crowned the MGA Points Cup Champion. A trophy will be awarded to the Champion, along with Pro Shop credit. Pro Shop credit will also be paid out to 2nd thru 5th place.

Point values represent a full field. Any tournaments with less than a full field will have points adjusted accordingly.
