Preferred Lies - April 13 & 14

Preferred Lies in Effect

April 13 & 14

The newly sodded bunkers will be played as Ground Under Repair. Relief must be taken at the nearest point no closer to the hole plus one club length. The ball must be dropped within one club of the nearest point of relief. The ball may be cleaned when taking this relief.

When the ball lies in the General Area cut to fairway length grass, anywhere on the golf course, free relief may be taken ONCE by placing the ball within One Club Length of the original lie no nearer the hole. The ball may be cleaned when taking this relief. A breach of this rule results in the general penalty under Rule 14.7a.

Temporary water is an abnormal course condition and free relief may be taken under Rule 16. The ball may be cleaned when taking this relief.

Good luck to everyone,

Matt Holub, Chairperson
OHCC MGA Rules Committee

Newly Seeded Areas

Gentlemen,

There are areas around the golf course where it is clear that the grounds crew have been working hard to get a jump on improvements for next season. You will notice a number of areas where topsoil and seed have been spread. We expect this to be an ongoing project for the next several weeks.

Therefore, for the remainder of this season, all “newly seeded areas” around the golf course are to be played as Ground Under Repair. You MUST take relief under Rule 16.1. If there is a question about whether relief is to be taken, ask your playing partners for assistance.

Regards,

Matt Holub
Rules Committee Chairperson

Play The Ball As It Lies

Gentlemen,

The conditions of the golf course have improved to the level that beginning this weekend, the ball should be played as it lies until further notice.

Thank you and good luck,
