Tournament Formats

Opening Day - Progressive Net

  • Teams compete for the best net score. First six holes, one ball is used; second six holes two balls are used and last six holes, three balls are used.

Orange Ball

  • Play own game, however everyone takes rotating turn with orange ball. Team that plays most holes without losing orange ball and which has lowest score on the orange ball holes wins. If you lose the orange ball you are out of competition.

No Cinco De Mayo

  • Strike Par 5's from your scorecard. Wear bright colors and your finest sombero!

Score Minus Putts

  • Keep your total score on your card then below your score keep track of putts on each hole. After play, subtract your putts from each score to determine shots from tee to green. Winner is determined by best score minus half her handicap.

Putt For Dough

  • 1 putt = 4 points, 2 putts = 3 points, 3 putt (or more!) - subtract 3 points. Most points after the round wins.

Money Ball

  • Like Orange Ball - each team player takes her turn playing the Money Ball (a colored ball) in a predetermined rotation. However, when scoring, two scores are used for the team - the Money Ball score and the lowest score from another teammate. Team with lowest score WITHOUT LOSING the Money Ball wins.

Selected Score

  • Choose 3 Par five net scores, 3 par four net scores and 3 par three net scores for your total.

The Snake

  • If you 3-putt, you own the snake and earn a -1 for each hole you own the snake. The only way to get rid of the snake is for someone else in your 4some to 3-putt. Winner is the player with the least negative or with 0 snake-points.

Skins

  • Each foursome agrees on amount of wager. Low score wins hole, ties go to next hole (carry-over).

Bingo, Bango, Bongo

  • First Player in foursome on green gets 1 point (Bingo). Player closest to pin once everyone is on gets 1 point (Bango). First player to sink a putt gets 1 point (Bongo). You must remember to play in order (farthest out first).

Lean on Par (Criers)

  • Play own game. At end of play, throw out 2 worst holes. Substitute par. Circle on card, when posting on score sheet, put actual score/par. (Ex) 7/4

Nassau

  • Tee times based on handicaps.
  • 18 hole stroke play. Best back - Net. Best front - Net. Best Overall-Gross. Only one prize per player per flight.

Blind Partners

  • Play 18-hole stroke play. Partners will be drawn after play. Both handicaps are used.

Mutt & Jeff

  • Mutt and Jeff is a tournament format in which the focus is on par-3s and par-5s only. The round of golf is completed, then the total net score for each player on the par-3 and par-5 holes is recorded. Prizes for low net on those long and short holes.

Memorial Match Play

  • Tee times and pairings based on handicaps. No prizes awarded.

Member Member Tournament

  • (Best Ball 2-some) Play own game. Select best score per hole. Play with the partner of your choice.

Progressive Net Tournament

  • Teams compete for the best net score. First six holes, one ball is used; second six holes two balls are used and last six holes, three balls are used.

Flag Tournament

  • Tee times based on handicaps.
  • Each player will get certain number of strokes - the course handicap plus 2/3 of player's full handicap. You play that number of shots you and then plant your flag on the last shot you are allowed. Player who plants her flag the farthest on the course is winner.

Maids Quarters

  • Only Par 4 holes count. Gross and Net.

Red, White & Blue

  • Tee times based on handicaps.
  • Play from Red tees on Par 5 holes
  • Play from White tees on Par 4 holes
  • Play from Blue tees on Par 3 holes

Bring a Friend Tournament

  • Bring a non-member to play in a team style tournament. Male or female guests allowed. Snacks provided at the 19th hole!

President's Cup

  • 18 hole stroke play. Net tournament

Criss Cross

  • Following the round, compare the scores you recorded on No. 1 and No. 10 and circle the lower of the two. Compare No. 2 and No. 11 and circle the lower of the two, and so on through No. 9 and No. 18.

Blind Holes

  • Tee times based on handicaps.
  • Play own game - stroke play. Three random holes are omitted to establish final gross and net scores.

Club Championship

  • Round 1 - all flights Stroke play.
  • Round 2 - all flights Stroke play.

Eliminate

  • Teams must use one player’s score, but only once in a four-hole rotation. Last two holes can be played by any two players chosen.

Jack and Jill

  • Format to be determined

Honest Jane

  • Very simple: Before the round starts, members of the group each put an agreed-upon dollar amount into the pot. Each player predicts the score they will shoot. At the end of the round, the player who came closest to his predicted score wins the pot.

Odd Even Partners

  • Pick partners within 4-some. Decide before play whose score will count on all the even holes and the other on the odd holes. Play 18 holes- Gross and net score on each hole. Odd or even for an 18 hole total.

Ninety-Nine Team Tournament

  • Teams of two; each player is responsible to score a net 9 holes of the 18-hole match. After holing out and before teeing off on the next hole, players decide which net score to take. By the end of the match, each player must have 9 net scores.

4 Woman Cha Cha Cha

  • On the first hole (cha), the one low ball counts as the team score. On the second hole (cha cha), the two low balls count as the team score. On the third hole (cha cha cha), the three low balls count as the team score. The rotation starts over on the fourth hole.

Strike Three

  • Strike Three is a tournament format or a betting game among friends. Pretty simple: At the end of the round find your three highest individual hole scores ... and erase them. Add up your score, minus the three highest holes, and low score wins. Wear your favorite team colors!!!!

Hate 'Em!

  • Choose three of your hated holes before the round starts write down a par on each. A stipulation that applies is that the three holes must be comprised of one par 3, one par 4 and one par 5. Played with full handicaps. At the end of the round, add up the strokes (including the three pars on your Hate 'Em holes) deduct your handicap strokes, and the low player (or group) wins.

One Ball

  • Flighted tournament. The challenge will be to finish 18 holes with the same ball. Winners will be decided from those who finish with the same ball, then low net score per flight.

Duel Out

  • 18 holes stroke play - full handicap; Flighted tournament (two flights - 16 and under, 17 and over). Each player will play against the others in their flight. The object is to hand in the lowest, net score. The twist is that you get to exclude two holes where you scored a BIG number.Ball to be scored must be holed out (you're playing the field)
